Blot Out the Sun
A large blue dragon lands, hiding the flames behind him. Measuring 7.5" by 9.5", this fellow is sold in a gold frame matted with red. There are prints available.
Created with watercolor pencil India ink and white goache.
Scales, scales and even more scales! This was an exercise in patience for me, but I think it paid off in the end.
This earthy toned dragon was created on heavy illustration board with a mix of watercolor paint and pencils, with India ink and white gouache. The sky is a bit more vivid blue than this verion. He's double matted out to 16"x20".
